The Provost of Kogi State College of Nursing Sciences, Mr. James Anaza Duro Joseph, has extended warm Easter greetings to Christian faithfuls across the state and the nation, particularly commending Christian residents and politicians in Kogi State for their steadfastness and faith.
In a message signed by the Provost and issued on Friday through the College’s Information Officer, Mrs. Binta.
The provost rejoiced with Christians as they commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, urging them to reflect on His virtues of humility, perseverance, and compassion.
He noted that Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross for the atonement of mankind’s sins and reconciliation with God offers deep lessons for humanity.
“I urge all Christian faithfuls to continue to live in peace, love, and harmony with believers of other faiths,” the Provost said. “Good neighbourliness, selflessness, patience, and love are virtues exemplified by our Lord Jesus Christ, and these should guide our interactions daily.”
Mr. Joseph encouraged Christians to use the Easter celebration as a moment for spiritual reflection and a call to seek God's face for continuous peace and unity in the country.
“On behalf of the Management, staff, and students of the College, I wish all Kogites, and indeed Christians across Nigeria and around the world, a Happy Easter as we reflect on the immense sacrifice and unconditional love of Jesus Christ,” he stated.
“The message of Easter is one of sacrifice, tolerance, harmony, perseverance, and undying love. Let us strive to be Christ-like in our dealings with fellow citizens and in our service to our nation. This period provides us an opportunity to reevaluate our relationships — as individuals, communities, and as a country.”
He further called on Christians to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those around them and to actively contribute to the growth and development of Kogi State and Nigeria at large.
“We should mirror the virtues of humility, compassion, and enduring love as demonstrated by Jesus Christ. May the blessings of Easter and the power of the resurrection rekindle our faith in God and humanity. I wish you all a joyful and peaceful celebration,” he concluded.
