Chief Dr. Amos Gizo, Executive Chairman of the Lower Benue River Basin Development Authority, has praised President Tinubu for signing the North-Central Development Commission bill into law.
This move is seen as a significant milestone in President Tinubu's reform agenda, which focuses on fast-tracking Nigeria's Agenda 2050 and National Development Plan (NDP) 2021-2025.
The North-Central Development Commission aims to drive socio-economic development in the region, comprising Kogi, Niger, Benue, Kwara, Plateau, Nasarawa, and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The commission is expected to address developmental challenges, such as poverty, illiteracy, and environmental issues, faced by the North-Central region.
Dr. Gizo commended President Tinubu for his vision and leadership, saying, "This is a new dawn for the North-Central region, and we are grateful to President Tinubu for his vision and leadership."
He also applauded the 10th National Assembly, led by Senate President Senator Godwin Akpabio, for passing the bill.
