Alh. Aliyu Ismaila Onumoko: Family marks 10-Year Death Anniversary
The family of Alh. Aliyu Ismaila Onumoko yesterday, 14th February, 2025 marked the 10-year memorial anniversary of their late father, Alh. Aliyu Ismaila Onumoko.
Speaking with newsmen on behalf of the family, the Kogi State Accountant General, Dr. Habibat Oyiza Onumoko said the remembrance reminded the children of the values and principles their late father instilled in them, which have guided them throughout their personal life.
While thanking all the people who attended the event, the Accountant General reflected on the profound impact of the loss of their father on her family, and acknowledged that her father's memory will live in their hearts and in the lives of all those who crossed his path.
An Islamic cleric, Alh. Yahaya Mukadamu, during his sermon, said Alh. Aliyu Ismaila Onumoko lived a glorious life and commended the children for sustaining the remembrance prayers of their late father yearly.
According to him, true leadership is about serving others and making positive impacts on the society, noting that the late Alh. Aliyu Ismaila Onumoko taught his children the values of family, and the importance of building relationships with people.
He charged the children to continue to draw inspirations from the life and legacies of their late father.
The gathering also witnessed the wedding Fatiha of Hon. Bilikisu Aliyu Onumoko and Engr. Yusuf Mohammed Ahovi, the Kogi State honourable Commissioner for Works, in Okengwe area of Okene Local government area.
The full day program was rounded off by the celebration of Moulud Nabiyyu 2025 in the compound of Alh. Aliyu Ismaila Onumoko.
Top dignitaries and government functionaries at the events were the Director General of Government House Administration, Dr. Shaibu Umar Oricha, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr Momodu Ozigi Deedat, President, Kogi State Customary Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Siyaka Momoh Jimoh Usman, Director General of Kogi State Pension Commission, Hajia Maryam Abedo, Kogi State Local Government Auditor General, Hon. Yakubu Adabenege, Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Monday Anyebe and the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye.
Others were RUWASA boss, Hon. Ibrahim Ahovi, Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Adams Adabenege, House of Assembly Members, Local Goverment Chairmen, DLGs and Treasurers of Local Government, State and Local Government appointees, Imams and Traditional rulers from far and near.
