KCCDA Inaugurates New Executives

A new executive Committee has been inaugurated for Kogi Central Community Development Association (KCCDA) with Comrade Justice Jimoh Sadiq (Ajaokuta) as President.

In a colourful and well attended ceremony at Okene local government Secretariat on Saturday, the new Executive Committee was inaugurated by the Electoral Committee chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Enebe Abdulrahim for a four year term.

Recall that the inauguration ceremony was earlier scheduled to come up on 7th December, 2024, but postponed due to circumstances bordering on the leadership of the apex community body.

The Electoral Committee chairman in his speech said, "with the inauguration and the emergence of a new leadership comprising people of impeccable character, it is expected that all hands will be on deck towards taking the community to greater heights for the good of all".

Hon. Abdulrahim urged the new executives to work as a team and also carry everybody along, pointing out that transparency breeds trust and confidence, which are necessary ingredients for community growth and development.

Also speaking was the transition committee president, Comrade Yaqub Ayihi Ishaq.

He said, "May 22, 2024, the five chairmen of the local government areas in Kogi central converged here in Okene LG Secretariat on instructions of his Excellency Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo who in his characteristics manner saw it that KCCDA was at the verge of collapse, the Indefatigable chairmen , having heard and reviewed all issues put before them decided to dissolve the then overstayed administration and constituted a caretaker committee that is today handing over to democratically elected executive, we can not thank the governor enough".

"The caretaker committee under my watch immediately constituted a committee to facilitate the visitation to all five chapters, this is to enable us have direct interface with the royal fathers, political office holders, community associations and other stakeholders to discuss and resolve on the need for a collective responsibility to peaceful coexistence of people of Kogi Central and reawakening the community association who were dormant, this exercise took us fifty five days".

He specifically commended the Electoral Committee chairman Hon. Abdulrahim for his outstanding performance and versatility.

According to the president of Ebira Youth Congress (EYC), Comr Ahmed Saka Bachido, the new community leaders will harness their diverse wealth of experiences to make remarkable contributions toward improving the lives of the people at the grassroots level.

He charged members of the new executives to be selfless in their conduct so as to provide responsible and responsive leadership that can attract greater achievements for the community.

The new president, Justice in his acceptance speech promised to be truthful, honest and transparent in managing the affairs of the community.

He thanked the people for the confidence reposed in him, promising to discharge his duties diligently in a way that will bring peace and development to Ebiraland.

The executives were Public Relations Officer- Ibrahim Abdulrazaq (Adavi), Assistant Public Relations Officer- Bello Usman Enehe (Okene), Assistant Secretary - Abubakar Suleiman (Ajaokuta), Social Director - Amos Eyika (Ogori/Magongo), Auditor- Adams Ibrahim (Okehi), Financial Secretary - Tayo Onimisi Omodaiye (Ogori/Magongo).
Others were Woman Leader - Musa Shefi (Okene), Provost- Usman Omuya Kabir (Adavi), Treasurer- Ajayi Mohammed (Okehi), Vice President - Abasi Lamidi Ikutemi (Adavi), Secretary - Mamman O. Yakubu (Okene), Provost Marshal- Ozigi Suleiman Okuku (Okehi)
