National Universities Commission (NUC) visits Glorious Vision University (GVU) for the Accreditation of Law College

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has visited Glorious Vision University (formerly Samuel Adegboyega University), Ogwa, Edo State, for the accreditation of Law College.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ezekiel S. Asemah received the NUC team in his office on Thursday, the 28th of November 2024. 

Prof. Asemah expressed gratitude to God for granting journey mercies to all the team members to Glorious Vision University.

 Asemah thanked the team members for accepting to come to Glorious Vision University for the accreditation of Law and for coming to add value to Law programme in Glorious Vision University and by extension, the entire university. 

He noted that Glorious Vision University was fast developing as several programmes have been introduced since he took over as the Vice Chancellor.

 In his words: "Glorious Vision University is still a growing university, but one thing is sure, the university is fast developing, despite her challenges." The management under my leadership is working hard to improve on the different areas in the university."You have come to add value to our university and we pray and hope that at the end of the exercise, we shall all be happy." 

Professor Solomon Ekwenze, the leader of the NUC Law Accreditation team, responded to the Vice Chancellor's remarks by thanking him and the management of Glorious Vision University on behalf of the NUC team for the warm reception they received on arrival to the campus. 

He noted that their mission was to assess the Law programme in Glorious Vision University as required by the National Universities Commission. Other members of the team were Prof. Florence Masajiuwa, Prof. Gideon Gasu and Mrs. Kate Okoli.

The team completed the exercise on Friday the 29th of November 2024 and presented the report to the Vice Chancellor.The team leader who spoke on behalf of the team commended the university management, under the leadership of Prof. Ezekiel S. Asemah, for maintaining a clean and healthy environment that is very good for learning.  He also commended the demonstration of cooperation among academic and non-teaching staff, including a good rapport between academic staff and the students.

 

The team leader and members of the team pointed out areas where the university needed to work on and equally commended the university in other areas. Prof. Ekwenze highly commended the Law students that him and members of his team interacted with. According to him, "GVU Law students are sound and they can match students of other universities anywhere in the world and this shows that the lecturers are doing a great job."

After presenting the report to the Vice Chancellor, the NUC team took out time to address all the Law students in Glorious Vision University.
