Kogi State Accountant-General, Hajia Habibat Oyiza Onumoko has distributed over ten thousand bags of rice to the women in Kogi Central in celebration of this year's Christmas and the new year, 2025.
Others who benefitted were the less privileged, vulnerable people and widows drawn from the five local government areas in Kogi central.
In her statement through the Special Adviser to the governor on Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Bilikisu Aliyu, who doubles as President of FairWin Women Advancement Association (FAWWASS), the Accountant General said the gesture was aimed at easing the financial burden faced by many families during the festive season.
She admonished all to reflect on act of kindness, reminding that giving back, no matter how small, makes the world a better place.
While congratulating the people of Kogi Central, particularly the Christians, the philanthropist urged them to continue to emulate the virtues and teachings of Jesus Christ.
The beneficiaries thanked the Accountant-General for her consistent efforts to enhance the welfare of women, noting that such initiatives does not only offer immediate relief, but also inspires hope and resilience.
They prayed for good health for the Accountant General, and the governor of the state, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, to enable them continue what they described as good, efficient and effective leadership in the state.
