Minimum Wage: Kogi AG, Habibat Oyiza hails Governor Ododo
Kogi State Accountant-General, Hajia Habibat Oyiza Onumoko has commended governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for graciously approving the immediate payment of minimum wage of N72,500.00 to Kogi State Civil Servants with effect from October, 2024.
The AG also hailed the governor for suspending tax burden on the approved sum for one year.
According to her, the governor has again demonstrated integrity in governance and visionary leadership by implementing the minimum wage for workers in Kogi State.
The Accountant General said the minimum wage increase will significantly enhance the quality of life for workers and enable them meet basic need.
Reeling out other achievements of the present administration in the state, the Accountant General said governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has also implemented policies that promote sustainable agriculture.
On infrastructure, the AG said governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has embarked on the rehabilitation and construction of roads across the state.
While restating that governor Ahmed Ododo will continue the pace of development in the Confluence State, she noted that the administration has also reduced unemployment to a minimal percentage, and education remains free and compulsory at primary and secondary school levels.
The AG expressed gratitude to the governor for sustaining peace by tackling its insecurity challenges with synergy from security agencies in the state.
In her final note, the Accountant General urged the civil servants in the state to strive for excellence by working with integrity, efficiency and effectiveness, and be committed to government vision and policies.
