The leadership of the Ebira People's Association (EPA), on behalf of the entirety of Anegbira, heartily rejoices and felicitates with Kogites, particularly His Excellency , Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo the Executive Governor of Kogi State on the affirmation of the governor's electoral victory by the Supreme Court.
Indeed, it's a long walk to victory and the apex court has validated the people's mandate and, for us, Kogi state and her people have triumphed at the end of the day. This calls for celebration by all indigenes of Kogi State both at home and those in the diaspora.
Essentially, this victory has come to further show how much God loves Kogi State and cherishes its diversities in terms of its varied ethnic composition. This cannot be by accident, from all indications.
Let me therefore seize this opportunity to appeal to our brothers from the other senatorial districts, particularly the Eastern Senatorial District who contested the results of the election in court, to take this verdict in good faith and see it as the will of God- the ultimate giver of power. It should be seen that the God who has brought us together in this state is ordering our affairs in the best way he pleases. Let us not forget that He remembers all His creatures and rewards them at His appointed times.
The time for the electoral contest is over. It is important that all of us in Kogi State join our hands together and cooperate with the government of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to move the state forward. This will be in the overall interest of all of us in this state.
We equally appeal to His Excellency to be magnanimous in victory and extend a hand of fellowship to all those who lost in the election and the ensuing litigations. Everyone should be carried along in the development of the state.
With all the legal encumbrances logically laid to rest, and as the Governor settles down for a purposeful governance, we urge your Excellency to translate this victory into tangible benefits for the people of Kogi State. We expect this administration to prioritize good governance, transparency, and accountability as he has been doing this far. Kogites yearn for quality education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic empowerment.
EPA pledges her support and cooperation to His Excellency in any course that serves Ebira nation, Kogites and humanity at large.
Once again, congratulations and wishing the Governor good health and wisdom to pilot the affairs of this state in such ways that Kogi State will be better.
May God bless His Excellency, the Ebira nation and Kogi state -amen!
