Kogi State Government has suspended two secondary school principals over alleged professional misconduct.
The Nigeria Reporters (Ngreporters) gathered during Radio Kogi 94.1 FM Audience Participatory programme with the Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Mr Wemi Jones, that the two Principals were found wanting of extortion of money from students during the last West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) examination.
According to the Commissioner, the thirty percent budgetary allocation to the education sector is still in place, saying Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is committed to improving the education sector for the overall development of the state.
The governor warned school principals in the state not to sabotage his free education policy.
The identities of the affected principals were not disclosed, however, another reliable source revealed that one of the principals is from Kogi Central, while the other is from Kogi West.
The Commissioner, who reiterated the commitment of the Present Administration in resuscitating Technical Education in the State, applauded the Governor for consolidating on the achievements of the former Governor, Yahaya Bello.
He emphasized that all programmes in the State owned higher Institutions have been duly accredited, adding that government will continue to give priority to primary schools, secondary schools and the tertiary institutions in the state.
