Kogi State Accountant-General, Hajia Habibat Oyiza Onumoko has called on Kogi women to strive to acquire the requisite knowledge and skills that would increase their value in a male dominated society.
The AG gave the charge during the joint meeting of members of FAWWASS from Kogi West and Kogi Central.
She commended the resilient spirit of Kogi women and appreciated their daily struggles, calling on them to show strong willingness to enable more female representatives in the political landscape of Kogi State.
According to her, women are critical stakeholders in the growth and development of any nation. She urged them to equip themselves with relevant skills that wil propel them to greater heights.
The AG advised women to pick up businesses with the little money at their disposals before calling for supports, and further enjoined them to start trade and acquire skills to enable them excel in their various areas of interest
"I want us to work together as one. I commend all of you for your resilient spirits. We're in that century to be self-reliant."
"This will no doubt enhance the socio-economic growth of the state and the nation at large."
Also in the early hours of yesterday, the Kogi State Accountant-General, Hajia Habibat Oyiza Onumoko was in Upogoro, Okene LGA for the 8th Day Fidau Prayers for the repose of the soul of Madam Aminat Onyi-Ohinoyi, the mother of the former Director of Okene Local Government Area, Mr. Sadiq Adangara.
The AG urged the family of the deceased to be consoled with the fact that the late Madam Aminat lived a fulfilled life.
She prayed Allah grant the deceased eternal rest and give the Alh. Sadiq Ahi family continued fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
