EMAN celebrates Islamic New Year 1446AH

...commissions solar boreholes in Ogaminana Central Mosque.

The national Amir of El-Birru Muslim Association of Nigeria (EMAN), Arc. Mamman Abdul Yekeen has expressed immense gratitude to Allah for availing him and his team the opportunity to unveil the 1446 AH Islamic calendar.

He congratulated the muslims who are witnessing the new year and prayed that Allah grant all the muslims who have returned to him Aljanatul Firdaus.

Speaking further, the Amir said the new year offers a fresh start and the opportunity for muslims to make positive impacts in the ummah and in their respective communities.

He implore the muslims to imbibe the important values of patience, perseverance and faithfulness, which were the qualities of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

The Islamic group during its activities to mark the new year, also commissioned solar boreholes at Ogaminana Central Mosque in Adavi LGA.

The Amir noted that it was part of the group resolve to alleviate the plight of residents in their quest to access safe water.

He lamented that many muslims and other people in communities get their water from open streams and rivers which are often polluted, thereby constituting a health challenge to the masses.

According to the Amir, the group will be constructing more boreholes across Kogi central this year, as he thanked development partners for their invaluable efforts and called for continuous collaborations for greater success.

Earlier, a public lecture titled, "Challenges of Insecurity and Economic Instability: The role of the Ummah in changing the narratives", was delivered by Prof. Adam Ahmad Abere, the Provost, Nigeria Defence College, Abuja.

The speaker quoted the prophet of Islam as saying, "no one has ever eats any food better than that which he has earned with his own hands".

He encouraged muslims to give charity, set up waqfs and sponsor orphans and widows.

Those who contributed to the discussions include 
Ohi of Okene, Ohi of Eganyi and the president of Jammatul Nari Islam, Ambassador Usman Bello amongst others.

The sideline activities include free medical outreach to the people of Ebiraland where over 300 persons benefitted, and a sponsored radio program to admonish the people of Ebiraland on the activities of EMAN by the Secretary of the Islamic group, Ustadh Yunusa.
