Upogoro Community Inaugurates New Executives

Upogoro Community Development Association (UCDA) on Saturday 29th, June, 2024, swears in new executives to pilot the affairs of the association. 

Upogoro community in Okene local government area of Kogi State is the place of Origin of the present governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo.

The swearing in ceremony was conducted by the apex community body in Ebiraland, Kogi Central Community Development Association (KCCDA), under the leadership of Comr. Yakubu Ayihi.

While addressing the new executives, governor Ahmed Usman Ododo ably represented by the Director General of Government House Administration, Alh. Shaibu Umar Oricha, encouraged the new executives to be of service to the community and ensure they perform better than the previous administration.

He noted that the past chairman and his executive had done very well for the community during their tenure.


Alh. Oricha charged the new leadership to sustain the good legacies of the founding fathers of the association.

The DG also congratulated the people of Upogoro over the victory of the governor in the Tribunal and beseeched them to sustain their prayers for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

The Chairman of the occasion Alh. Sherifdeen Dalhatu who was also represented by Alh. Momoh Saki Kashim promised to work with the new executives to move Upogoro community forward.

He pledged to deliver two motorized borehole to the community in order to reduce the hardship faced by the people to have access to safe water. Alh. Dalhatu expressed his readiness to compliment government action by working closely with the government of Kogi State to spread the project across communities in Kogi Central.

In his goodwill message, the Ohi of Okene, Alhaji Mamman congratulated the new executives and appeal to them to promote unity among members and Ebiraland in general.

He charged them to consolidate on the achievements of their predecessors and urged every member of the community to be good ambassador of the community.

Others who spoke at the inaugural ceremony included top government officials, community leaders, religious leaders, political leaders, amongst others.

Those inaugurated are; Mr Onuchi Abdulazeez, Chairman; Mallam Obaro Salihu Suleiman, Vice Chairman; Mallam Hadi, Secretary; Yakubu Abdulrahman, Auditor I; Ahmed Abdulrahim, Auditor II; Usman Abdulsalam, Youth Leader; Ahmed Abdulqudus, PRO I; Usman Damisa Adam, PRO II, amongst others.
