Women in Kogi state yesterday said governor Ahmed Usman Ododo's developmental strides in the state are in tune with people's needs.
The women drawn from the five local government areas in Kogi Central gave the commendation in GRA Okene, during a thank-you visit to Kogi State Accountant-General, Hajia Habibat Oyiza Onumoko.
The women said the AG strategic initiatives have brought about substantial development in their various communities, and earned her widespread admiration and respect.
The group posited that the AG is obviously bridging the gap between the people at the grassroot level and the government, and further noted that she has continued to implement transformative initiatives that have significantly improved the lives of the people and improved their standard of living.
They prayed God bless the AG with long life and the needed wisdom to contribute immensely to the administration of His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
In her response through the president of FAWWASS, Hajia Habibat Oyiza said the government of Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo is working assiduously with the State House of Assembly to enact laws that would increase girl-child enrolment in school, fight against sexual exploitation, and generally give what is due to the womenfolk.
The AG also reiterated the commitment of Governor Ododo's administration to the welfare of people with disabilities in the state, stressing that the state Governor is accessible to all Kogi people irrespective of class.
She commended the resilience, unity and spirit of oneness the women in the state put up throughout the period of the last governorship election.
The AG expressed appreciation for the support the women has been giving to the administration of Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, promising that her office would continue to play its role to ensure that priority is given to the welfare of women in the state.
