Kogi AG, Habibat Holds Special Prayers for Gov Ododo, fmr Gov Bello, Others.


Women across Kogi State on Sunday, converged in GRA Okene at the residence of the Kogi State Accountant-General (AG), Hajia Habibat Oyiza Onumoko, where a special prayer session was held for governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and for the success of his administration.

Prayers was also offered for the immediate past governor of Kogi State, Alh. Yahaya Bello amid his EFCC ordeal.

The AG said it was incumbent upon every citizen of Kogi State to pray for former Governor Yahaya Bello to transcend to a higher level, stating that there is no family in the state that has not been positively affected by Bello's monumental programmes.


According to her, former governor Bello's developmental projects cut across every nooks and crannies of the state.

While describing the immediate past governor as the "Father of Modern Kogi State' , and a special breed who loves and care for all irrespective of tribe, religion, gender or political affiliation, the AG called on the people of the state to close ranks and see the trial of the former governor as test from God.

Parts of her statements;

"The trial of former governor Yahaya Bello is a test from God. We are hopeful that God will put the enemies of our State to shame soon."

"Every right thinking Kogite will always be thankful to former governor Yahaya Bello. He gave us security, good roads, standard hospitals, good institutions of learning with accredited courses, and gave our women the opportunity to serve in various capacities in the State"

"We must close ranks so that the enemies of the State will not jeopardize his legacies."

"I thank all of you for always praying for our present governor, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo and his predecessor, Alh. Yahaya Bello".

"Whether you're a Christian, muslim or you believe in traditions, I'm appealing to you to support us with prayers. We will triumph over our enemies and all the gang-ups and evil plans against our leader, former governor Yahaya Bello."

While urging the people of Kogi central to take the up-coming Census exercise seriously, the AG also charged them to support the present administration for its overall success, adding that the present administration is a continuity of Yahaya Bello’s inclusive, transparent and accountable government.
