The Director of the FCT Directorate of Road Traffic Services (DRTS), Dr. Abdul-Lateef Bello has expressed warm felicitations to Nigerian Muslim community and all Nigerians on the occasion of this year’s Eid-El-Kabir celebration.
Dr. Lateef noted that the sanctity and tradition of gathering together in prayers and celebrations, is one of the cardinal templates of love and commitment to the principles of Islam.
In his statement, Dr. Lateef said the festival offers the muslims the opportunity for spiritual renewal and reminds the muslims the need for oneness and togetherness.
He urged them to be good ambassadors of Islam by upholding high moral values.
Dr. Lateef called for prayers for sustained peace in the country and appealed that security matters should not be politicized for whatever gains.
According to him, economic prosperity & peace are interlinked, positing that peace is a strong pre-requisite for development.
He urged motorists to drive responsibly and avoid overloading in this festive period, noting that speed kills.
