Kogi State Governor, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo has been commended by FairWin Women Advancement Association (FAWWASS) for his courage and bravery in fighting crime across the state, and reducing kidnapping cases and thuggery to the barest minimum.
The commendation came a day after students of the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, were rescued from the hands of notorious gunmen who invaded
the university campus and abducted some students.
The president of the group, Hon. Bilikisu Onumoko while commending Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo's efforts in tackling insecurity, also hail the local hunters and the vigilante group, noting that Kogites must unite and work together to bring relative peace to attract investors to the state for massive investment in critical sectors of the economy.
She said in less than four months in office, governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has provided support infrastructure for security operatives in the state, citing the operational vehicles, and other security equipment provided to the security outfits across the state as timely intervention of the state government and effective measures to curb insecurity.
Hon. Bilikisu encouraged parents to take their children to tertiary institutions in the state.
She said,
"what you're going to Sokoto to look for is in your shokoto".
" We have good tertiary institutions with accredited courses here in Kogi State".
"You don't have to be risking your lives traveling long distances to study."
While hailing the immediate past governor of Kogi state, Alh. Yahaya Bello for laying a solid foundation in the education sector, she reiterated that the incumbent governor, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo will perform far beyond the expectations of the people of the state.
