Kogi In Perspective: EFCC vs GYB

Humans are not infallible, even those ordained by God and chosen as prophets.

Politics, governance and leadership have their intricacies. People also hold biases towards perceived heroes , heroines and suspected political enemies.

In Kogi state, unlike most Core Northern states where there is near homogeneity, the political-sphere is similar to that of Kaduna, Benue and Plateau, with heterogeneity in tribes, culture and religion. But as imperfect as one may want to assess FGYB’s governance, he was able to remove Kogi from the grip of insecurity - as the nation’s capital of Kidnapping.

He remains the only governor who has touched all the three Senatorial Districts of the state with remarkable infrastructural landmarks since the state’s inception.

For an administration that kept winning WORLD BANK’S award for Transparency and Revenue Mobilization year in year out, one wonders how the anti-graft agency comes to her un-investigated conclusions. (www.kogipedia.net)

Someone is afraid of the North Central, and by extension, Kogi State and her Political Giants. At the right time when the Appeal Courts in Abuja determines the position of the injunction from the Federal High Court Lokoja deterring the EFCC from arresting or prosecuting FGYB as appealed by the EFCC, this Monday, all the shakabulla charade and gymnastics of the EFCC at Benghazi street Wuse 4, will be seen as what it is - a backdoor undercutting and undermining of the Legal system, the system they ought to be supporting.

Mind you, we know there exists a similar injunction that is over 11 years now, and it is still in effect.

As far as knowledgeable Kogites are concerned, FGYB would not be bullied into political submission.

This concern might be related to his status as one of the most sellable presidential material, this part of the north!
