Align with govt programmes, vision, Kogi AG tells Kogites

Kogi State Accountant-General, Hajia Habibat Oyiza Onumoko has charged the people of Kogi state to support the policies and programmes of the present administration to enable it succeed.

The AG stated this during her interactive session with different groups and associations in Government House, Lokoja on Monday, shortly after governor Ahmed Usman Ododo addressed the large crowd at the Lugard House.

She said for the state to thrive and reach its utmost potential, the people need to unite, cooperate and move in the same direction.

According to her, the unity starts with a sense of togetherness, cohesiveness and harmony between communities, towns and tribes.

Reeling out the achievements of the present government of less than 3 months in office, the AG said governor Ahmed Usman Ododo's development agenda is in line with the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as it focuses on security, job creation, accessible health care, quality education, infrastructure, and effective sustainable economic growth.
She thanked the people of the state for their trust, commitments, and belief in the possibilities that lie ahead.

While condemning in strong terms the action of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against the former governor of Kogi State, Alh. Yahaya Bello, she appealed to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to tame the commission's excesses to further prove to Nigerians that the country is not a Banana Republic where persons in authority can abuse the rule of law.
