In line with her longstanding tradition of generosity, the Kogi State Accountant-General, Hajia (Dr.) Habibat Oyiza Onumoko FCNA has distributed food items to the people of the state. A gesture she said was to complement the genuine efforts of the State Governor, His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, who is determined to cushion the hardship occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy, especially during the Ramadan period.
Speaking with members of FairWin Women Advancement Association (FAWWASS) via a video call, the Accountant-General said the State Government has expanded special intervention packages aimed at putting smiles on the faces of the people of the State, and to ensure that muslim families across Kogi State observe the sacred month with great measure of comfort.
The Accountant-General said, "I thank all of you for your supports and prayers. These food items are my goodwill gesture to ease the burden of our families during this holy month. I pray it alleviates hardship, bring joy, sustenance, and blessings to all who receive them”.
She congratulated Muslims on witnessing the month of Ramadan, urging them to abide by the lessons that would be learnt in the holy month, and put them into practice always.
While calling for more supports for the Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo led Administration, she said the government of the day is giving the women and the youths more opportunities to enhance full participation in governance, by creating an enabling atmosphere for them to fully display their political and administrative ingenuity.
