Anglican Bishop of Okene Diocese Prays for Divine Guidance and Calls for Effective Governance in Kogi State

On March 15th, 2024, an impactful prayer of thanksgiving was organized by the Kogi Central Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Ebira Christian Elders Forum at the Cathedral Church of St. Andrews' Okene. The occasion was dedicated to praying for the new Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, following his recent assumption of office.

The charge, delivered by the Bishop, Anglican Diocese of Okene, Rt. Revd Dr. Emmanuel Isezuo Onsachi, Ph.D., on this significant event, emphasized gratitude to God for life and the gathering of believers to intercede for the government. The leadership of Kogi Central CAN and the Ebira Christian Elders Council was acknowledged and appreciated for their roles in fostering unity and spirituality.
In his address, Bishop Onsachi highlighted the divine selection of Governor Ododo and urged all Christians to support him, wishing him a successful tenure. The speech underscored the responsibilities of leadership, including purposeful governance, infrastructural development, security enhancement, economic revival, fair appointments, and youth empowerment.

6. Fair Appointments: Advocated for fair and just appointments, urging the inclusion of capable and trustworthy individuals from the church in the government's executive council.

7. Youth Empowerment: Stressed the importance of empowering youths with skills and knowledge to reduce unemployment and curb crime rates.

The charge concluded with prayers for Governor Ododo's success, the prosperity of Kogi State, and the well-being of its people.
