The permanent secretary in the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hajia Habibat Onumoko on Sunday distributed food items to members of FairWin Women Advancement Association (FAWWASS) in preparation for the Christmas and the New Year celebration.
The president of FAWWASS, Hon. Bilikisu Onumoko who distributed the food items on behalf of the notable philanthropist said it has become the tradition of the permanent secretary to provide such gesture every year to assist the people in celebrating the two festivals.
Hon. Bilikisu said it’s the perm. secretary's personal instinct to better the lives of people across ethnic and religious lines.
She also revealed that other beneficiaries of the perm. secretary’s kind gesture include the non indigenes resident in Ebiraland and the people living with different disabilities.
The permanent secretary's message to the members of FAWWASS reads in parts, "the present administration prioritizes the well-being of all citizens in Kogi state, especially the women."
"we are all aware when the United Nations Women commended our Governor, His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya for his efforts in ensuring the inclusiveness and greater participation of women in the state affairs."
"therefore we must continue to show love, tolerate one another and sustain our support and prayers for the government of Alh. Yahaya Bello to continue to excel so that we can enjoy more dividends of democracy at our doorsteps".
The beneficiaries of the food items thanked the permanent secretary for her generosity and prayed to God to bless her with sound health and more promotions to enable her offer more service to the state.
