The permanent secretary in the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy, Hajia Habibat Onumoko has lauded the Governor of Kogi State, Alh. Yahaya Bello, noting that even in his last year in office as Kogi state governor, he is still performing excellently and delivering dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
According to the perm. secretary, Governor Yahaya Bello's administration has been giving priority to the health sector, adding that the "Bello Cares Programme", an initiative of the state government enhanced efficient and effective healthcare service delivery.
She gave the commendations in Muhammadu Buhari square, Lokoja, during the official commissioning of modern ambulances, high capacity firefighting trucks, and the distribution of official vehicles by Kogi state governor, Alh. Yahaya Bello to the State Assembly members and principal officers, Heads of the Judiciary, Heads of Institutions and others.
She said the firefighting trucks provided by the governor will enable the state fire service to respond to fire emergencies especially during the harmattan season.
The perm. secretary further noted that the vehicles donated to the state House of Assembly members by the Executive Governor of the state was timely and will aid their movements in the course of performing their legislative assignments both within and outside the state.
She reposed confidence in the gov-elect, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, reiterating that the governor elect upon assumption of office has the capacity to sustain the laudable policies, programmes and good governance of Governor Yahaya Bello, and most importantly, to maintain the peaceful co-existence amongst the various ethnic groups in the state.
The perm. secretary charged the people of the state to continue to pray for Kogi state governor, Alh. Yahaya Bello, describing him as a formidable political force to reckon with.
