The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hajia Habibat Onumoko has expressed strong optimism that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will win the November 11, 2023 governorship election in the state fairly and squarely.
Hajia Habibat made the assertion in Kabba Town during the Kogi West APC campaign rally.
She said with the massive support the APC is enjoying from Kogites at home and in the diaspora, there is no way the party will lose the 2023 governorship election, citing the legacy projects embarked upon by Governor Yahaya Bello as indicative of winning capacity in all elections in the state.
Hajia Habibat also said "it has become obvious that the APC has gone ahead of other parties in the state while the oppositions are playing catch-up."
She charges the people of the state to vote for the governorship candidate of the APC, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo. The Perm. Sec. said, "When you vote for Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, you're making a huge investment for your tomorrow and for the tomorrow of your children."
Those who were on the campaign train of the Permanent Secretary to Kabba town were the members of FairWin Women Advancement Association (FAWWASS) and the Hausa/Fulani Community in Kogi Central. The Members of FAWWASS in Ijumu local government area also joined the rally.
In a joint statement shortly after the event, the chairman of the Hausa/Fulani Community in Kogi Central, Alh. Jimah Jango and the woman leader, Hajia Aisha Haruna, thanked the Permanent Secretary for carrying them along always.
They said through the Permanent Secretary's supports and encouragements, they were able to mobilize their members in the five local government areas of Kogi central to register and collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). According to them, they have been told who they should vote for and they are ready to deliver all their votes for the APC candidate.
Scores of the party's state and national officers, state and local government appointees were present at the event.
