The socio- cultural groups, Onyamika-Adamika yesterday stormed Okene local government secretariat in a grand style to put on display their means of seeking God's intervention in important matters. The prayers offered yesterday was for the victory of Alh. Usman Ahmed Ododo, the gubernatorial candidate of The All Progressive Congress (APC).
Those who attended the prayer include Taaru Adayi Itopa Anda, Onoku groups in Ebiraland and the family members of the APC governorship candidate,
The program was organized and sponsored by Amb. Gimbiya Hannatu, the founder of Hikmah Foundation in a bid to create a synergy with other believers in Kogi Central, devoid of religious and political affiliation as they strive towards achieving the same goal for the land, hence every prayer is essential and further noting that Ahmed Usman Ododo, who represents Kogi Agenda should be given top priority.
Onyai Onoku Ayivada, the mother of the indigenous spiritual maidens, took the lead from her resident in Ahogede, Okene down to the program venue (Okene Secreatariat). According to her, the marching was part of the rituals to be performed.
In recognition of the presence of God and seeking His undiluted blessings upon the land as well prayer for the success of Ododo/Juel ticket, Taaru Adayi Itopa Anda was called out to speak in a language the God will understand best as he lead the prayer, and he did pray fervently for the people of the land, the son of the soil, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, and Kogi State in general
Shortly after the prayer session, Taaru Anda commended the organizer, Amb. Gimbiyat for making it a call to visit the tradition faithfuls to seek their blessings, guidance, and advice, then he promised that his support shall continue to know no bounds for Ododo and what he sees is the success that they craved for and nothing less.
It was a thrilling atmosphere when a shower of praises and tunes of appreciation rent the air as Amb. Gimbiyat made a turn to award scholarships to the two amazing young girls in the group while addressing the group on the need to always be awakened and create a sense of belonging if not for the sake of themselves but at least for their children, and asked women to respect themselves in all regard if they want to be respected in return, that Ododo and his wife are good examples of how twins should live and relate.
She concluded her remarks by admonishing the groups to be firm in their support for the candidate of APC, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo which is coming to consolidate on the laid down achievements of His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello most especially on the traditional institution.
