As the November 11 Kogi governorship election draws close, Amb. Gimbiya Hannatu Usman Nga has again organized prayers for the peaceful conduct of the November 11 election and the emergence of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alh Ahmed Usman Ododo.
This time it was with the spiritual maidens popularly know as the Onoku cult.
The spiritual maidens were dressed in immaculate whites with a feather stucked close to the side of one ear. They were also decorated with traditional accessories like the cowries and the beads. There was a procession from Ahogede through the ever busy Okene market and terminated at Okene LG Secretariat.
Speaking during the event, Amb. Hannatu charges the spiritual maidens to join forces with the APC to ensure that Ododo win the next election in the state.
Amb. Hannatu said the governorship candidate would give priority to their welfare through empowerment programme and creation oj jobs if elected.
In her response ,the leader of the Onoku cult, Onoku Ayivada declared that they will work hard to ensure Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo win the November 11 election. She said they are giving spiritual and physical support for Alh. Ahmed Ododo, revealing that they are also going to Mobilize their members with PVCs to vote on the election day.
High Point of the event was the scholarships offered to two members of the Onoku cult by Hikma Foundation, founded by Amb. Gimbiya Hannatu Usman Nga.
The prayers was witnessed by members of OAU Independent Campaign Council, State and Local Government Appointees and Taru Adayi Itopa Anda, Idoji.
