Kogi NYCN impeach, expel embattled Chairman, Ogohi

...set to conduct election in the next 90 days

The committee saddled with the task of investigating allegations levelled the suspended  Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi State chapter, Usman Ogohi Samuel has recommended his impeachment and expulsion after finding him guilty of 17 charge levelled against him by the council.

This resolution was contained in a detailed report of findings signed by the chairman of the committee, Isiaka Suleiman and subsequently adopted by the council in a management meeting held today at the Youth House in Lokoja. 

The Secretary and Treasurer of the council were however reprimanded for allowing the chairman to overlap their constitutional duties, which had caused great disservice to the council.
The Committee as stated in the report also concluded that the elders’ council should liaise with the executive council under the leadership of the acting chairman to conduct election in the next 90 days, in-line with the constitution of the council and necessity of time and convenience.

The committee chairman further opined that the state board of trustee and the elders council should pay more attention to the activities of the council and ensure all constitutional guaranteed meetings were held as and when due to nip in the bud issues before they deteriorate to great magnitude adding that the executive council must be called to account and be charged to be responsible. 

According to the Committee chairman, he noted that all attempts made by the panel to invite the embattled chairman for fair hearing was not harkened to as he refused to show up for any of the invitations by the committee.
