Barr. Salami M. Ozigi Deedat, Kogi State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, has called for continued support and prayers for Governor Yahaya Bello in his pursuit to deliver the much-needed dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
Barr. Deedat made the call on Sunday while addressing members of FairWin Women Advancement Association (FAWWASS) in GRA, Okene.
The commissioner said Governor Yahaya Bello has many good policies and programmes that have direct impacts on the lives of Kogites.
The Commissioner charges members of FAWWASS to remain resolute and work hard to ensure the APC candidate wins, affirming that that the group's support had strengthened the unity within the party from all strata and boost the popularity of the APC candidate.
He said, "I know FAWWASS has been supporting the vision of Governor Yahaya Bello since 2015. You must not relent now that we have important election ahead of us. I want to specially commend the Permanent Secretary in my Ministry, Hajia Habibat Onumoko for her unflinching loyalty and support to the activities of the party ahead of the governorship election."
The Commissioner prayed for more unity within the party and success in the 2023 November 11 election.

Addressing the people on the importance of their voter’s card, Barr. Deedat enjoined the people of voting age in Okehi to make sure they collect their PVCs and keep them secure, adding that ward meetings should be attended and supported with commitments.
According to him, "there’s no alternative to APC in the State."
While charging the electorates to support the candidacy of Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Commissioner boost the morale of the women at the meeting by gifting them clothes, assuring them of more supports ahead.
"I'm here today to remind you of the task ahead of us. Our people must come together now to support the ruling party. Just the way the people in Kogi East and West have promised to deliver bloc votes for Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, all of us in the Central part of the State must play our part well to deliver all the polling units and wards to our party's candidate."
In his remarks, the Advisory Committee Chairman in the area commended and thanked the Commissioner for attending their meeting at the ward level. He said it's a show of love for the party and the people.
Other APC members, executives, ward councillors who spoke at the meeting also expressed their delight and appreciation to the Commissioner for his cooperation, understanding and support for the success of the activities of the party at all levels.
Others who joined the commissioner at the ward meeting were the wife of the Commissioner, Hajia Shifawau Ozigi Deedat, Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hajia Habibat Onumoko, Hon. Adams Adabenege, Chairman, Kogi State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Ibrahim Ahovi Special Adviser to the Governor on Commerce and Industry, members of FAWWASS amongst others.
