FairWin Women Advancement Association (FAWWASS) has reaffirmed its support for the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Kogi State, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hajia Habibat Onumoko who is also the founder of the APC support group in her, 'thank you' note, expressed optimism that victory is in sight for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate.
In his speech, the governorship candidate pledged to implement policies and programmes that would sustain the present administration’s achievements.
The APC candidate, Ododo said he was grateful that he was found worthy by the Party to succeed His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello.
Appreciating what he described as genuine support from FAWWASS, he said, "thank you FAWWASS for your open support, I will not betray the confidence reposed in me. You see, when it comes to inclusive governance, give it to us. Our Leader, His Excellency, Alh Yahaya Bello trained us to respect women. We will continue to bank on his wisdom and wealth of experience."
The Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Salami Ozigi-Deedat who was with the APC flagbearer, said that the choice of Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo as candidate was divine, and urged Kogites to support him.
Barr. Deedat described Ahmed Ododo as a man with a very large heart and a symbol of peace, assuring of his magnanimity to accommodate all irrespective of religion, gender and tribe.
He said, "I'm a member of FAWWASS likewise the APC candidate and his wife. By next year, we will be here again Godwilling and our candidate will be addressed as the Governor of Kogi state. Our doors are opened, our candidate has the heart to accommodate you. I'm urging those in the opposition to take This opportunity."
Earlier today, Perm. Sec. Hajia Habibat was in Okeneba in Okene LGA to receive defectors (youths, women) who formally defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The former PDP members whose structure had all along worked for the PDP changed loyalty to the APC governorship candidate and collapsed their PDP structure into APC. According to the leader of the group, with their entry into APC, there is no more PDP in Okeneba.
While charging them to discard all materials linking them to the PDP, they were empowered with clothes and cash, and told to work for the victory of the APC candidate.
