Permanent Secretary in the Kogi State Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hajia Habibat Onumoko has urged APC support groups, women and youths in the state to close ranks and work as a team to ensure victory of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
Hajia Habibat made the call on Friday in Government House, Lokoja, shortly after the Inauguration of Ododo/Joel 2023 Steering Committee for Women and Youth Mobilization Campaign Team and the Introduction of Incoming Governor's Wife and Deputy Governor's Wife to the good people of Kogi State.
According to Hajia Habibat, the Ododo/Joel ticket presents the greatest hope of equity for Kogi women.
She also highlighted Governor Yahaya Bello's obvious commitment to the protection of women's right and his policies that guarantee the inclusion of women in all government activities.
She said,
"Governor Yahaya Bello has kept his promise to the youths and women in Kogi State. Our party has presented to us a competent man to succeed our incumbent governor. Our children need more jobs, we all need security, we need more economic prosperity, we want the state to be united and devoid of ethnic, tribal and religious difference. The only man who has the courage to do all these for us is Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo. We must therefore declare support for the candidate with good plans for women and the youths."
She appealed to Kogi women and youths to be determined and resilient in the task of driving the party to victory in the forthcoming general election.
