As the Confluence State clocks 32 years of creation, the Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Domestic Matters, Hon. Abdulrazaq Aminu (Okakanda) has described his principal, His Excellency, Governor, Yahaya Bello as a pioneer of a true democracy who has prioritized inclusive leadership and people-based governance for his people.
The Special Adviser referenced that under the ‘New Direction Blueprint’, which is the brain child of Governor Yahaya Bello, the state has recorded innumerable tactile infrastructural revamping and comprehensive human capital development amidst daunting socio-economic challenges.
Hon. Okakanda further described Governor Yahaya Bello as a listening leader who welcomes contributions from his team, adding that such has placed him above his counterparts putting his administration at pedestal in term of security, education, health, youth and women empowerment cum equity distribution of power and resources across the three senatorial districts of Kogi State.
While reflecting on the development of Kogi State in the past 32 years, Hon. Okakanda who described Governor Bello as the architect of modern Kogi, asserted that the APC government has been committed to creating a safe and secured environment for people to live, work and do businesses.
"Governor Yahaya Bello's administration has ensured infrastructural development is a top priority as we have seen several being initiated and completed while many are ongoing. The government has further revamped all our educational institutions, the health sectors, plus repositioning of all support structures and the civil service system to deliver quality education and healthcare delivery to our people".
“Creating of jobs, youth and women empowerment, Rule of Law and other critical areas have also received equal attention. The New Direction government is ready to intensify these efforts to deliver to Kogites, more of these dividends in years ahead". Okakanda said
The Special Adviser stressed that Governor Bello's endorsement of Alh. Ododo Ahmed Usman for the November 11th governorship election is a further expression of his will to listen to the demands of Kogi State stakeholders and members of the governing All Progressives Congress who believe Alhaji Ododo has the capacity to consolidate on the current gains of the New Direction Administration.
