MEET ALHAJI BELLO ABDUL-LATEEF, AN UNCOMMON HUMANIST

Alhaji Bello Abdullateef is a Kogi-Born Public Administrator and a Security Expert, born on the 12th of September, 1965 in Okene Local Government Area of the State. He had his Primary Education in the year 1972-1977 at  L.S.M.B. School, Agassa, Okene. He then proceeded to Abdulazeez Attah Memorial College Okene (AAMCO) for his Secondary School Certificate Examination (S.S.C.E) from 1977-1982.

His passion and zeal for education is at topnotch, hence, he went for his higher education at Bayero University Kano (B.U.K) in the year 1986-1989 where he bagged a Bachelor of Science's degree from the department of Sociology. 

He also attained other educational heights which include; Master of Art(M.A.) on Development Studies (Human Resources & Employment) from the institute of Social Studies, Netherland in the year 2002–2003 and most recently, a Doctor of Letters (D. Litt) from Irsbaccom University (In Collaboration with International Institute of Professional Security, IIPS) in March, 2021.

This humble soul has also had so many inspiring research works which some of them include Representativeness in Managing Human Resources in the Nigerian Civil Service and The Changing Dimension of “Echane Festival” A Case Study of Okene Community in Ebira Land. 

His working experience started when he was appointed as planning officer ll - Budget and Planning Division, Federal Capital Development Authority. He was later promoted to the position of Assistant Secretary, Departmental Tenders Board — Department of Administration, Federal Capital Development Authority. He also served as Personal Assistant to Directors in different department of the Federal Capital Development Authority before he became the Assistant Director, Deputy Director and subsequently Director Admin and Finance (Security Service Department), Federal Capital Development Authority.

He was recently appointed as Director, Directorate of Road Traffic Services, FCT by the Honourable Minister of FCT, the position he held till date.

His hardwork and relentlessness has earned him so many beautiful and inspiring awards some of which are: Netherlands Fellowship 2002/2003, Sir Ahmadu Bello Platinum Leadership Award 2020 by Northern Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), The Omoye Clan Prestigious Son Award - December, 2019, Late Senator A.T Ahmed Foundation Recognition award - 2014, Prestigious Merit Award — National Association of Ebira Students (University of Abuja chapter) - 2011, Award of Excellence (As peace & reconciliation Achiever of our time) National Association of Ebira Students (NAES) – Feb,2010, Humanitarian Award (In recognition of humanitarian gesture towards Individual and Organisations) – Nigerian Sociology & Anthropology Students Association(Uni-Abuja) - Jan,2010, Commendation Award (Peace Initiatives) – The Adilas Family – Dec, 2008,  and so many others were awards he had bagged to his person.

His beautiful ride also extended to community development. He has played significant role in addressing some pertinent issues via publications/paper presentations coupled with some physical interventions. These include; Sustainable Peace in Ebiraland: Way Forward., Ebiraland: What went wrong (1&2)., Leadership: The bane of crisis in Ebiraland., Peace in Ebira Land = Reality or Myth and many more. He has excellently acted as a patron to an initiative known as "Movement 4 Change Initiative" in Kogi Central. He also served as the Chairman of Omoye-Ogu Reconciliation Forum dated from 12th Sept., 2008 – 2010.

Alhaji Abdul-lateef has attended so many workshops and seminars where he would highly strengthen his growth and knowledge. Most of these seminars where at the international level in different countries. He is currently a Fellow, Institute of Corporate Administration., Fellow, International Institute of Professional Security., Member, Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, United kingdom and an Associate Member, Nigerian Institute of Management (AMNIM).


His desire to learn, grow and facilitate development is second to none. He has been a good and a healthy inspiration to many and to his world.

He's happily married and blessed with promising Children.
