As Nigerians celebrate this year’s June 12 Democracy Day, Speaker of the Kogi State Youth Parliament, RT Hon. Ibikunle Olajide has called on politicians and religious leader in the state to use their offices to promote peace, unity and give priority to the welfare of the people.
Hon. Ibikunle said some people, particularly, political leaders, paid with their lives for democracy to be enthroned in the country, expressed joy that democratic rule has not been interrupted since its inception in 1999.
Hon. Ibikunle today in Lokoja, Kogi state capital hail the government of Alh. Yahaya Bello, described his developmental agenda for Kogi State as crystal clear.
"Governor Yahaya Bello has done well for the people of the state and still doing more. He has transformed the state to become the Kogi State of our dream. All his projects are physical".
Hon. Ibikunle further congratulated the new Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, expressing satisfaction that he will pilot the affairs of the state Assembly effectively and support policies that will place more youths in the government of the day.
