Youth Parliament calls for collective efforts to develop Kogi State.
...engage youths with responsibilities, says Speaker.
In a statement made by the Speaker, Kogi State Youth Parliament, Rt Hon Ibikunle Olajide during his visit to the Chief Judge of the Kogi State High Court of Justice, Hon Justice Josiah Joe Majebi, said the meeting was to further strengthen the relationship between the Legislative arm, the Judiciary and the Parliament in the state.
"One of our primary duties is to ensure the youths of Kogi State are given adequate relevance and importance"
"Your Lordship, upon your assumption of office, we are aware of your efforts and the the possible reformations you've been able to carry out. It's a laudable one and we must commend your lordship for taking these bold step".
Speaking further, the speaker said,
"Kogi State is our State and all hands must be on desk to ensure her continuous development, and for this dream to come true, the youths must be engaged and charged with responsibilities".
Rt Hon Ibikunle Olajide said the youths of Kogi State are hardworking and dedicated to the development of Kogi State and the Parliament will continue to do its best to ensure that there is quality representation and adequate recommendations for the youths of the state to grow.
The Chief Judge of Kogi State, Hon Justice Josiah Joe Majebi in his response appreciated the Parliamentarians for always thinking of adequate relevance for the youths.
"I want to appreciate His Excellency Governor Yahaya Bello for giving the youths the opportunity to strive and contribute to the development of the State. I want to urge all the youths of our state to continuously support the administration of His Excellency, Gov Yahaya Bello and the next administration"
"I was once in the class of Youth and i know that the future of our great country is in the hands of our youths, the youths of this great country must continue to strive hard".
The Chief Judge charged the Parliamentarians to be able to identify Legislative Motions and Resolutions that can regulate the behaviour of the youths in the state. He said the youths should be able to identify their purpose in life for national development.
The Chief Judge said the Judiciary is interested in progressive youths. He charged the Parliament to continue to enlighten the youths on the right thing to do and need to be good ambassadors of the State.
The Majority Leader of the Parliament, Hon. Abdulwahab Ozigi, (Member representing Okene 1) in his remark appreciated the opportunity given for the visit and expressed his delight with the speech of the Chief Judge.
