FairWin Women Advancement Association (FAWWASS) has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo would win the governorship election with a wide margin in the forthcoming Kogi governorship election scheduled to hold in November, citing the legacy projects embarked on by the present administration as the guage of the anticipated victory.
The president of the socio-political group, Hon. Bilikisu Onumoko hailed Governor Yahaya Bello for making the state’s resources work for the people, stating that the infrastructure projects undertaken by the present administration were unprecedented in the history of the state.
Hon. Bilikisu Onumoko said the present administration has laid a solid foundation for economic growth and development for the next government in the state.
In her statements, she affirmed that the Government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello has gone far beyond the 35% affirmative action for women and has made Kogi State a pacesetter and a model in gender inclusiveness, she said such responsible government need a successor that would be women-friendly and gender sensitive compliance.
According to her, there is no better time to say 'thank you' to the APC and to Governor Yahaya Bello than November 11, when the governorship election is slated to hold in the state.
Hon. Bilikisu Onumoko discouraged the women in the state against vote selling and mortgaging their future on the promises of selfish politicians, charging them to caution their children against being used by desperate politicians.
She charged members of the party to avoid divisive tendencies, such as tribal and religious sentiments that could jeopardize the interest of the party and enjoined them to enlighten the people on the need to sustain the existing unity in the state for the overall development of the state.
