ASSAULT ON POLICE: PCRC CONDEMNS SEUN KUTI'S SELF HELP, LAUDS IGP FOR QUICK ACTION, PLANS POLICE CELEBRITY CONFERENCE.

The National leadership of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) by this release, condemns in totality, actions of Mr Seun Kuti, son of Nigeria's late afro beats legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti who was captured in Lagos assaulting a Police Officer in uniform and on official duty.
Describing same as unacceptable and unfortunate, the National Chairman, Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan commends the IGP for his quick intervention and at the same time lauds Nigerians home and abroad for speaking against what represents a disrespect to the symbol of authority of the Nigerian nation, most especially when the affected Police officer as captured in the viral and painstakingly watched video footage kept his cool despite Mr Seun Kuti's aggression.
The Mogaji Fosunpaja of Ibadan Land calls on Nigerians especially celebrities, to lend their hands in support for the ongoing efforts of the IGP and his management team against rights violations by Police officers and men across the country, since *it is on record that the current Police leadership under IGP Usman Alkali Baba has dealt more decisively with NPF officials who violates rights of Nigerians through all forms of intimidation, harassment and assault on our roads, communities and places of work.
Rather than looking for needless justification for his barbaric act notwithstanding the infraction of the Police officer, the National Chairman wants Mr Seun Kuti to immediately tender a public apology to Nigerians, the Nigeria Police Force, the affected Police officer and the Kuti family home and abroad. He commended Mr P of P'square for leading the needful path in the healing process *through his post on social media on the subject matter on Sunday May 14. 2023 and called on other celebrities who truly cares to immediately follow up to safe Mr Seun Kuti from the inevitable.
The number 1 PCRC member in Nigeria has identified the need for a Police Celebrity Conference* to be championed by the PCRC immediately after the swearing of the President Elect by God's (Allah) grace. The conference will seek to bring together top hierarchy of the NPF, other sister security agencies, industry players in Nigeria's showbusiness and journalists to discuss the most acceptable ways of handling issues between Nigeria celebrities and security agents.
